Flying into freelancing

Some people say they fell into freelancing. I flew. On the LH2476 from Munich to London. ✈️
It began in the year 2023 BB (Before Bagel). Almost five years into my six-month assignment in Germany, my wife-to-be was offered a job in the UK. With my assignment running out, we had a decision to make. It was time to return to post-Brexit Britain. 😬
So five months later, we ditched our square pillowcases, swapped cash for cards and bid a Pfand farewell to Germany.
But one question remained.
I liked what I did and the team I worked with. But balmy Bedfordshire was too far from my ‘home and host’ company’s offices. I didn’t fancy changing country AND company. There had to be another way... 💭
And then came a thought. I like my own company. I like the idea of my own company. What if I can get other people to like my own company, too? And thus, a freelancer was born.
