To name or not to name...

Updated: Jan 30

I’d always (mostly) encourage people to be themselves.

But when it comes to business, you have a choice.

Trade under your own name. Or come up with a shiny new one. 😎

I wanted that metaphorical distance. An introvert thing, I guess. I also wanted to make the whole adventure feel as professional as possible.

So armed with a pen, paper, and a free trial of Canva, I started brainstorming.

TN Write Write Write was bad but had character. Tim Norris Copywriting and Communications had way too many characters. So I ditched my name and cut to the chase: CopyComms.

Disguise set 🥸, it was time for design. Now I’ve never been gifted in the old art department. My school spared no expense reminding me of that. So it was time for backup. Luckily the excellent Katrin Graf of PURASIGN worked on everything from a font and style to a website and logo.

There was just one thing left. Signal. So 18 months on from its LinkedIn debut, here is my 15-second Canva masterpiece. Enjoy.
